My name is Laura Cerny and I am a third year student studying Food Science at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
I am creating this online travel journal for myself, so that I can easily document my memories and look back at them in old age. I never want to forget how lucky I have been to have done and seen so much in the world. I’ve recently found that I’m having trouble remembering certain moments during my adventures. There are gaps in my memory where no pictures were taken, and I don’t want to lose anything else. From here on out, I’m taking as many pictures as possible, and writing down as many thoughts as I can.
I have recently come back from the Cal Poly Study Abroad Program in Thailand for summer 2015, and I am still trying to wrap my head around how lucky I have been to have experienced so much.
I am proud to announce that I will be exploring Peru and Ecuador within the upcoming months.
I am so blessed to have the opportunity to travel all over the world, thanks to my *cough cough* financial dependence on my parents and their willingness to put up with me. I hate the word “deserve” and I truly believe that I have had all these opportunities because of my race and class privilege, not because of any hard work on my part.
I’m not afraid to try new things, and will eat anything you tell me is exotic or rare. I play the ukulele and the banjolele and my favorite animal is a manatee.
I want to see as many beautiful places as possible, and to take in as much of the world as I can. I’m not the type to spend a vacation relaxing by the beach: I like to fill up every second with excitement and stories to remember forever.
The bulk of my pictures and stories will go on this site, but please feel free to keep up with my instagram for all of my current favorite photos (all original over-edited content).
